I looove Playing With Myself!<\/p><\/div>\n

I’m a small-business owner with a love for games.\u00a0 Video games, board games, card games…and most importantly Minis games!\u00a0 I’m here at my warehouse in middle Tennessee right now not working and instead writing this gaming blog.\u00a0 Being your own boss is good.<\/p>\n

I will never say I’m a great minis player, as the amount of practice I’ve had is pretty low due to a lack of players in my area.\u00a0 However, I will say I’m good enough that I beat any desire to play minis against me out of my small group of gaming friends.\u00a0 Hence, Playing With Myself is my only option.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There aren’t many pre-painted minis accomplishments to be had, but I won the World Of Warcraft miniatures state title in 2009 here in TN (My warband is here:\u00a0 http:\/\/www.tcgplayer.com\/games\/303\/party.asp?Party_ID=280)\u00a0 It’s frustrating, as my one real gaming accomplishment is plastered all over the Internet as me having taken 2nd place, but I can assure you I won this event, and I have the $2500 travel voucher and trophy from Blizzard to prove it.=) (It does correctly show my placing here at\u00a0http:\/\/www.wowminisdb.com\/PartyLists.php, search Toby Truman) It was actually a pretty crazy romp I had through that tournament, as I had only played about 15-20 total WoW minis games in my life, and I straight up stole the warband I was going to use from a team in the qualifier the night before.\u00a0 I actually felt a little bad, as I beat 3 members of that team in the State Tourney the next day.<\/p>\n

I ended up going 3\/3 at the WoW Minis National Tourney at GenCon that year.\u00a0 Not great, however with the way WoW minis was built, I lost 2 of the 3 matches on the outcome of a single dice roll at the time limit, and the third one due to my poor play.\u00a0 Still, I had a great time trying some different games at GenCon, including demoing Malifaux and shooting some LRM’s in the Battletech room.<\/p>\n

I placed at a couple of local DDM realease tourneys back when they had them (War of the Dragon Queen and Blood War) at a store about 60 miles away.\"elf<\/a><\/p>\n

Back in the 90’s, I even had a run as the man who placed in more Top 8’s at Magic the Gathering Pro-Tour qualifiers without ever actually qualifying for the Pro-Tour.\u00a0 It was brutal, I Top 8’ed about 9 separate PTQ’s (including a run of 4-5 in a row).\u00a0 I briefly got back into Magic a few years back, and I even managed another<\/em> top 4 finish at a large (120 or so) Indianapolis PTQ in 2012.\u00a0 Sadly, the Pro-Tour seems it will always be just out of reach for me.<\/p>\n

Still, DDM is the love of my gaming life, and I can’t even really quantify why.<\/p>\n
